Fire Station 1
The Hutchinson Fire Department is proud to be an "all hazards" emergency service. It offers experienced, trained, and equipped crews to effectively deal with all fire, medical, man made, and natural disaster emergencies that occur within its response area. Hutchinson Fire Department Fire Station 1services are comparable to those of large city fire departments in that services rendered to the community include quality fire prevention, code enforcement, public education programs, origin and cause fire investigations, effective and efficient fire suppression, basic emergency medical tandem response, hazardous material mitigation, command teams and technical rescue.

The Hutchinson Fire Department has 91 members, responding from 6 fire stations, utilizing 22 emergency vehicles and 7 staff support vehicles. All are strategically spread among the 6 fire stations for suppression operations and emergency response.  Response territory covers 108 square miles, protecting approximately 46,000 citizens.  Additionally, HFD provides mutual aid response to all of Reno and Rice Counties, and to portions of Harvey, Kingman, Stafford, and Barton Counties. The mutual aid area encompasses just over 2,000 square miles.

The City of Hutchinson and surrounding area will continue to grow in terms of new construction and population. Demands on the fire department will continue to increase, most notably in the areas of medical service, special operations, and special events. Commitment to continuous improvement and customer service will be required to maintain and enhance our service and response ability. Department members are prepared and eager to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead to better serve.

The Hutchinson Fire Department has a long history and tradition of being a respected and innovative fire department. This is solely due to the dedicated men and women that serve it. I am grateful for their commitment, and it is with great pride that I serve as Fire Chief. We as the Hutchinson Fire Department, appreciate the opportunity to serve this community and its citizens.
