The Housing Commission is comprised of 7 at-large members selected by each of the City Council members. The Commission shall also have members from the Homebuilders Association of Hutchinson, the Hutchinson Board of Realtors, the Central Kansas Landlord Association, and the Chamber of Commerce. Terms are for 3 years. Appointees must reside in the City. At-large members initially appointed shall have 1 member serve for a 1-year term, 2 members serve 2-year terms, and 2 members serve 3-year terms.
Agency members initially appointed will have 2 members serving 1-year term, 1 member serving a 2-year term, and 1 member serving a 3-year term. Thereafter, members will be appointed for 3-year terms. The Housing Program Coordinator acts as secretary to the Commission. For a current listing of members and terms of office, email Amy Denker.

The purpose of the Commission is to identify housing problems and opportunities for the greater Hutchinson area and to develop comprehensive housing solutions based on those problems and opportunities.

Meetings are open to the public. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication at a Housing Commission meeting (or any City program, service or activity), should email Meryl Dye, Assistant City Manager/ADA Coordinator, at 620-259-4118 (TDD - Kansas Relay Center 711), as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled meeting.
