[ARCHIVED] 06.17.19 Apple Lane Base Repair Project

Beginning Tuesday, June 18th the City of Hutchinson will begin a project to make road base repairs on the 1 mile section of Apple Lane from 30th Avenue to 17th Avenue. Work will begin by setting up traffic control to limit traffic and provide safety. The project will contain 4 work zone phases with 35 repairs and is expected to be completed by Friday, July 5th. Weather could be expected to delay project completion.

We know road construction and repair creates an inconvenience for all motorists so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this project.

Items of importance to this project:

  • Our job is to keep local resident motorist and workers safe! All construction work zone laws will apply and will be enforced. Please obey all traffic control signage and construction zone reduced speed limits. Do not move barricades, cones or other traffic control devices and signage.
  • To provide safety and to expedite work progress during this project, traffic on Apple Lane will be limited to only businesses and local residents who live on Apple Lane and residents that live within the Apple Lane Subdivision.
  • Due to the scope of this project area and limited side road access, resident traffic flow in Phases 1 and 2 will generally be limited to one-way North bound traffic only. This traffic will be limited to residents only. Thru traffic from 17th to 30th and 23rd to 30th will not be allowed. Please obey traffic control signage.
  • Motorists that travel East 23rd Avenue West to Apple Lane will need to use an alternate route, such as Lucille Drive during this project as thru traffic will not be allowed on Apple Lane. Please obey traffic control signage.
  • Local businesses with access limited to Apple Lane will be contacted prior to the project beginning.
  • Door hangers with notification and contact information will be placed on doors of local residences within the project area.
  • During this project access for emergency services will always be available.
  • Residents with special concerns or access needs within the confines of the project area will be met.
