Hutchinson Fire Department (HFD) responded to a structure fire at 400 East 16th Avenue early Saturday morning. Time of call was 0822 hours. Fire crews were dispatched for a report of a bedroom on fire that was allegedly started by a juvenile. Upon arrival, crews were faced with a one-story residential home with heavy fire coming from a window from a reported bedroom. All occupants were out of the home upon fire crew’s arrival.
Fire crews made entry into the home to contain the fire to the room of origin. Fire was contained, but not before smoke damage was done throughout the home. No injuries noted. Fire crews remain on scene completing salvage and overhaul. Fire Investigators are working to determine the cause.
