CHANGES TO CITY OF HUTCHINSON PUBLIC MEETINGS

Based on the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), the Reno County Health Department (RCHD) the City of Hutchinson is continuing to be proactive in its efforts to limit the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic locally.

Effective immediately, all non-essential city board and committee meetings are cancelled until further notice - essential meaning those with urgent, time sensitive agenda items. Essential meetings will take place remotely. Please follow our website, Facebook page and agenda center for updates on how to access those meetings as we figure out how best to assure everyone who wants to is able to observe them.

City Council meetings will take place at City Hall as scheduled, however City Hall will remain closed to the public. To stream City Council meetings, please go to our YouTube channel, the City’s Facebook page, or watch on Channel 7. You can still reach all council members via phone or email, their contact information is posted at http://www.hutchgov.com/254/City-Council

The Kansas Attorney General has proposed temporary regulations and best practices regarding Kansas Open Meetings Act which we will adhere to while ensuring transparency to our residents and ensuring the safety of our staff, volunteers and elected officials in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. They can be found at www.ag.ks.gov/open-government.
